My name is Mayibongwe from a Dladla clan. i design logos and other branding apparatus namely ( Business laterhead, business cards, Company profiles, Flyer design and digital posters as well).
Style of design that i use tend to be more artwork than hard core design that sticks to established principles. Still, i never stray away from design principles so much.

Clients can provide direction and vision for the logo design if they wish to do so. Another choice is to just leave it all unto me the designer and take care of everything but with daily update of the progress. You're never let out as a client during the design process :)
